New Year message from Bob Reczka

On behalf of the entire Celero team, Happy New Year! I hope you celebrated the start of 2017 in good spirits with family and friends.



As we enter into a new year together, it is a good time to reflect on the year behind us and also look ahead to what we have planned for 2017.  

2016 highlights
Celero had a successful year in 2016. In addition to tracking to plan to meet our financial targets, we achieved a number of important accomplishments that positively impacted our clients:
  • Delivering world-class DNA banking system availability of 99.993%
  • Three new DNA clients were added to the Celero banking family to build strength and scale in our shared environment.  We extend a warm welcome to Williams Lake and District, North Peace and Spruce credit unions.
  • The renewed DNA banking agreements delivered approximately $650,000 in savings to clients in 2016 with an additional $900,000 in savings embedded in 2017.
  • Celero certified its first DNA app in Fiserv’s DNAappstore with eight new DNA apps in certification with Fiserv to bring improvements to your business. Another 29 apps are in the planning phases.
Celero also launched our business analytics practice in 2016 and we’re actively collaborating with Canadian credit unions to tailor our offering to bring a comprehensive and attractively priced service to you in the coming year. In the fall, we announced partnerships with innovative Canadian FinTech companies, Grow Financial and ASAPP Online Solutions, to bring progressive new components to credit unions’ omnichannel banking strategies.

Celero has been listening carefully to client feedback, and we’re making good progress with transforming Celero’s statement of work and project request processes. We know there is room for improvement and we have taken aggressive steps to improve the process and to increase the quality of our bids and reduce turnaround time. Changes are being actively implemented, and I look forward to hearing from you in early 2017 as to how were doing in this regard.

Looking ahead

Helping credit unions compete and succeed in a rapidly evolving financial services sector will continue to be Celero’s focus in 2017. Celero is working on omnichannel solutions that will enable credit unions to meet the needs of members and capitalize on new opportunities in their local markets. These solutions include:
  • Piloting and launching business analytics
  • Introducing an Electronic Content Management (ECM) service
  • Providing enhanced digital banking capabilities and expanding our FinTech partnerships
  • Continued internal process improvement with a specific focus on improved statements of work
  • Launching an enhanced IT procurement solution that brings new improved solutions and pricing
  • Leveraging global partners and bringing their scale to benefit clients
We’re also excited to host the ninth annual Celero FinTech Conference in beautiful Kelowna, BC in October. We’ll be sharing more details on what we have planned for this year’s event in early spring.
