Prairie Centre Credit Union selects Celero for strategic procurement services

April 24, 2018
CALGARY, ALBERTA (April 24, 2018) – Saskatchewan-based Prairie Centre Credit Union is partnering with Celero for end-to-end procurement services to leverage Celero’s managed services expertise and buying power to make a difference to their business.

Earlier this year, Celero launched its Procurement as a Service offering, expanding the breadth of procurement services it already provides Canadian credit unions, to create greater economies of scale and help credit unions nationally to draft, review, acquire, and manage their procurement more efficiently.

“Procurement is an area, for any organization, where focus and experience can enhance efficiencies and lower your costs,” said Elliott Lipsey, senior vice president, National Consulting and Procurement Services for Celero. “It goes beyond basic purchasing by establishing a collaborative model that drives innovation, value, and vendor performance.”

Celero’s procurement specialists provide expert advisory services to help credit unions manage their entire procurement lifecycle through a holistic approach that focuses on planning, sourcing and managing procurement to drive value and mitigate risk. This can all be achieved for one low monthly fee that can be lower than a credit union doing it themselves.

Prairie Centre Credit Union is Saskatchewan’s largest rural-based credit union, with 14 branches stretching across the west central region of the province, and is committed to serving their more than 15,000 members and communities everywhere.

“We could see clear benefits in terms of saved time and money by outsourcing to Celero with their Procurement as a Service solution,” said Rob Jones, Chief Operating Officer (Retail), Prairie Centre Credit Union. “But it also contributes positively to governance, regulatory compliance and risk management. Celero helps us ensure we’re always seeing the big picture and making procurement decisions that support our strategy and benefit us in the long-term.”

From contract and relationship management to ensuring vendors are delivering on their commitments, to advising on industry and market trends, Celero’s procurement service brings together responsibilities and activities spread across a credit union to create a core function that helps them operate more efficiently and profitably.

“Celero has been helping more than 70 credit unions procure technology and compete more effectively for more than a decade,” Lipsey added. “We know credit unions, and more. We’re excited to offer our expanded capabilities, industry knowledge, experience and joint buying power to Canadian credit unions and help lift their procurement activities from being transactional to contributing to their overall strategy.”

Celero will be at the 2018 National Conference for Canada’s Credit Unions in Toronto April 29 – May 1. Visit us to learn more about Celero’s products and services, including Procurement as a Service, at booth #225.
